Bicycle rescue

Yesterday, I witnessed a bicycle rescue operation on the side of the canal.

A gaggle of girls were standing around a pile of tangled bicycles. Several of the bicycles were muddy and canalified, but one was still shiny purple.

Apparently, the shiny bicycle had recently been tossed into the water where it was still visible. The owner (one of the girls) saw it and tried to pull it out, but it was stuck together with other, ickier bicycles.
At some point, a nice man started helping them- probably when they started pulling all the bicycles out of the water. Here he is in the middle, trying to pull the bicycles apart.
Separating the rescues

Everyone who touches the bicycles becomes filthy dirty.

But, finally, success! The bicycle is free!
And success- they are apart

The handlebars are completely destroyed but otherwise it looks okay.

Time for handwashing!
