Where could one find such a fine example of fear propaganda?
It was on the Raleigh hybrid bicycle I borrowed from my wonderful hosts in Iowa.
Though, you would find one on almost every bicycle sold in the U.S. in the last 30 years. I see them all over the place. And if you read the owner's manual, 2/3 of it is "if you don't do this, the bicycle will explode and you'll be severely injured" type of verbiage. It's ridiculous.http://portlandize.com/2009/03/are-you-afraid-of-your-bicycle/
On a bike I bought a few years ago the sticker said "Don't use this product or you will DIE!"OK, yeah, that's a sarcastic paraphrase, but it isn't an inaccurate translation from the lawyerese, it really was that extreme. Fortunately there was no sticker warning me of any dire consequences attendant on removing the sticker.I'm sure they're working on that one though.Could be worse, some American purveyors of ladders are starting to complain that ladders don't have enough surface area on which to apply the stickers.
