Back home in Leiden

So pretty! Walking around last night:















And shopping for breakfast groceries this morning:














It is so wonderful to be able to  ride a bicycle (with ease!) to the store and shop for groceries. It only took a few minutes and was safe and completely convenient. I am very grateful to the city planners, activists, and all who allowed this to happen.

  2. I like the bike racks that are provided! (shown in 2nd photo). It seems someone who actually rides a bike designed them, as they are smart! :)

  3. Apropos the tree in the first picture: If you leave your Christmas tree out around the time of Epiphany (6th of January, Driekoningen or Three Kings in Dutch) chances are kids will collect it for a bonfire. This tradition is probably more common in rural areas...
    In any case, it beats dragging your tree to the recycling centre.
